Y'all. I'm thrilled to share my book, Art Teacherin' 101 with you!
Art Teacherin' 101 is a 268-page paperback book that has been 25 years in the art teacherin' making.
When I began teaching in 1998, I had no idea what I was doing, and, honestly, I still don't most days! One thing I did learn quickly is that if you don't have a handle on classroom management, you'll be fighting a losing battle that will leave you feeling exhausted and defeated. That's no way for an amazing art teacher like you to live their life! In this book, I'm sharing all things art room management, from rules and routines to cultivating teamwork and raising up independent thinkers and creators. My goal is to share with you ways to be your very best art teacherin' self for your students, whether you are on a cart, virtual or in the classroom.
But before we dive into that, we're going to do some serious self-discovery to find out exactly why it is you teach art. Why do you wake up every day, rush to school, fill paint trays, sharpen pencils and prep supplies only to do it all over again the very next day? Discovering and knowing your personal why is the biggest gift you can give to your art teachin' self and your students.
I cannot wait to share with you all that I've learned (and continue to learn!) during my 25 years making big messes with small humans. Whether you are in college working toward your art education degree or a seasoned art teacher like myself, I believe there is something in Art Teacherin' 101 for you.

I'm a 17th year teacher who is transitioning out of teaching middle school social studies into my dream job, elementary art. I'm a type A person and so I need to have my ducks in a row and this book is helping me prepare! She has great suggestions that I'm finding really beneficial.
This book has been like having a mentor with me all along my new art teacher journey. The author, Cassie, has a wonderful sense of humor that keeps you engaged! So thankful for sharing all her knowledge with us. I truly admire her and wish to be a wonderful and inspiring art teacher just like her. 10/10!
Art Teacherin' 101, The Book!
When Andrew Huberman tells us to start our day with ten minutes in the sun for good health....I add...bring Cassie's Art Teacherin book with you. The chapters are timed perfectly for that. Aside from that fact....Cassie signed each book I ordered from her and I am so touched by her encouraging signatures! I mean in times like these encouragement and kindness are water for the thirsty! And the book.....it is captivating! I get my ikigai and burst out of bed each morning for my sun/Cassie book session. Something to look forward to! The book is so thorough and entertaining about the details and ins and outs of the art teaching life. My Mom was an art teacher. Growing up witnessing her stories I sure wish this book was out when she was alive to hold her hand through the challenges of art teacherin. Cassie's writing style is conversational and full of personality. I usually don't write reviews about anything until i've been with it for a long time....but I'm half way through the book and absolutely love it! I also read the interview chapter to someone going on a job interview and it helped her so much cuz it can apply to all kinds of interviews. I am going to devour any book Cassie creates. Her other books are excellent as well. I have her photo pinned on my pinterest under 'creative geniuses.'
